We had a crapload of tricker-treaters this year.. ran outta candy in about an hour.  They came in huge pacts like wolves so couldn’t even tell most of the costumes.  All little kids too which was awesome, different to what you see in Florida where 80% of the “kids” are in their 30’s.  lol

In between my obsession with Little Big Planet (usually when Pete pries the controller from my grubbie little fingers) I managed to squeeze in this little cutie!  This is Otis the Octopus… yes I’ve even gone as far as to name them, but we’ll keep that between us.

I’m also attempting to make my own Sackboy – only managed the head so far and I’m not super happy with it so might not finish this one and start again… thought I’d post anyway.

And lastly… a random pic of Pete’s sackboy while he was playing… he hasn’t even changed yet!  GAWD!  Mine is much more flashy atm (Pink Jumpsuit, money sign necklace, and baseball cap.. yea that’s how we roll.. jealous?  lolol)

Vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie

• 1 can peas and carrots
• 1 can corn
• 1 package veggie crumbles (I use Lightlife Smart Ground)
• 1 vegetable bullion cube
• 2 cloves garlic
• 1 onion (chopped)
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp Bisto
• 1 tsp Marmite
• 1 tsp vegetarian worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp HP sauce
• 8 potatoes
• 2 tbsp butter
• 3 tbsp milk
• Small amount of cornstarch or extra Bisto for gravy

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Heat oil in pan.  Add garlic and onion.  Saute until softened.  Add “meat” crumbles and brown.  Add juice from canned corn, peas and carrots.  Add marmite, worchestershire sauce and HP sauce.  Mix vegetable cube with 1/4 cup of boiling water and allow to disolve.  Add to “meat” mixture.  Mix Bisto with small amount of cold water then slowly add to mixture, stirring constantly.   Add pepper to taste and let simmer for 30 minutes.

Boil potatoes in the meantime until tender.  Mash with milk and butter and set aside.

Strain “meat” mixture until all juices are removed.  Save juice for gravy.

Add “meat” mixture to a casserole dish.  Press down.  Cover with mashed potatoes and bake for 30 mins.  Broil for another 5 mins or until top is golden brown.  Heat juice back up and add small amount of cornstarch or Bisto until mixture is thickened.

So finally got LBP today.  Pre-ordered from Game Crazy so I could get their pre-order freebie.  The closet Game Crazy is 30 miles/40 mins away — got the game but guess what, no pre-order freebie!  They said they haven’t received them from PS yet… lovely eh?  So after all that screwing around, I should have just pre-ordered from Game Stop or whatever in town since I can see me not getting the freebie after all that.  Grrr!  Never will bother about some stupid pre-order crap again that’s for sure… too much trouble!

Anyway, the game is a-freaking-mazing!  Pete’s home now so I probably won’t see it again until tomorrow (if I don’t stay awake all night playing, it’s that good and that addicting!)  Not started to create my own levels yet, still just playing the story levels but Wow, it was definitely worth the wait… looking forward to see what else I can do in it, as soon as I can get my hands on the controller again! 

Ok so new release date is October 28th so we’ll see.  Keeping fingers crossed!!

Only have to make it 3 more days.

If it’s delayed any longer I think I may lose it, this is me keeping it together!  lol

There is something incredibly romantic about vampires, not sure what it is… maybe it’s their swagger, or their mystery.  I know being a veggie and all that I shouldn’t find this stuff at all appealing, but I do!

True Blood (HBO) is by far my favorite TV show right now.  I’m reading the book as well, Dead Until Dawn by Charlaine Harris.  It’s the first book in the Southern Vampire mystery series.  The book is a bit different to the TV show but they both carry the same vibe.  I read only bits of the book at a time until I see the new show, then compare the two.  I know I’m lame.  I just couldn’t stand the book giving away something that the TV show hasn’t yet!  I love Bill the Vampire.  The actor who plays him (Stephen Moyer) is British which is where the appeal might be.. something about those British guys that just make my heart melt.. number one oN my list being my hubby, of course!  Long story short, I want to be Sookie and I want Bill.. in another life maybe!

I picked up the Twilight book the other day and I guess looking forward to starting that series too.  Just can’t decide if I want to watch the movie or read the book first.  Gosh, decisions.. decisions!  Check out the official website of the movie (http://www.twilightthemovie.com/) and make your own decision.  Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is alright looking, no Bill Compton.  I know the books are huge with the teens, might just not be enough for me though.  I’ll give the book a try one lazy weekend and probably wait for DVD to come out.  That’s my final verdict on that one.

Now… if only it was Sunday so I can watch a new True Blood!

So last night hubby asked me to make him a Strongbad  lol  For those of you who don’t know who he is check out the HomeStar Runner website. 

Since he is a contractor and is never at one place at one time I decided to try to create a keychain he can pop on his laptop bag instead of something to put on a desk or monitor… so with no pattern what so ever I gave it a try and here’s the result.  A nice little surprise for him today when he got home… gawd I’m so nice I can’t even stand it sometimes!

New amigurumi I’ve been working on the last couple of days.

This will be #3 and I’m totally “hooked”!

Think Jake might be a little jealous though! 

Just popped out and picked up two new books… plan on starting a new one tonite or tomorrow – so stay put, I know you are as excited as I am!

So this is Jake.  He’s my baby.  He’s a 5 year old Westie and I heart him.  I was sitting here on the lappy, looked over at him and he was looking so freakin’ cute I just had to snap a pic… something I do way too often.  You can tell by the yawn and the total lack of interest that he’s getting a bit bored with it . lol
